What to Expect At your Beach Session
For beach sessions, I recommend booking a stay of at least two days, especially if you wish to capture portraits at sunset. You'll find plenty of rental homes on the Washington and Oregon Coast that can comfortably accommodate both you and your horses. One great option is the Ocean Aces Horse Hotel and B&B in Grayland, WA. I've recommended this spot to many clients because of its great lotion and access to the beach.
Arriving on the morning of your first day is ideal, allowing you to settle in before diving into your sessions. With a two-night stay, you'll have plenty of time for beautiful evening portraits and fun daytime beach ride photos, giving you a wonderful variety of images from your trip.
Equine Portraits at the Beach
Photographing horses at the beach offers a unique opportunity to capture stunning images that reflect the beauty of both the setting and the bond between you and your horse. To ensure a successful session, careful planning is essential. It’s best to shoot early morning or late afternoon when the light is at its best.
To facilitate a relaxed experience for both you and your horse, consider bringing a friend to help hold your horse during the shoot. This allows you to fully engage with your horse and helps me capture those genuine moments that highlight your connection.
For those wanting to add a touch of romance to their portraits, I offer a selection of flowy dresses in my lending closet. If this interests you, please let me know, and we can schedule a time to go through the available options.
After your session, I will expertly edit the images, including removing halters and lead ropes to enhance the sense of freedom and liberty in your portraits.

Riding Photos at the Beach
The riding photo sessions celebrate the joy and connection between you and your horse. These sessions focus on fun moments showing what you and your horse can do under saddle, as well as the peaceful moments you share, enjoying the scenery. Having friends join adds excitement, creating lasting memories.
These sessions are typically done in the morning or later in the afternoon if you are doing a portrait session.
