Workshops with Jessica Farren Photography

Where art, horses, and storytelling come together.

What began as a way to share my love of horses and photography has become something even more meaningful, a space for creativity, community, and inspiration. Each workshop is designed for photographers who want to deepen their craft and connect more intentionally with their subjects. Together, we explore light, movement, and storytelling while photographing horses in natural, authentic settings. There’s something truly special about capturing horses in their element; feeling the wind shift, watching how light settles across the landscape, and learning how to translate that into imagery that feels alive.

Grayland BEACH Photography Workshop 2026

A place to create, learn, and connect — where light, motion, and artistry meet on the Washington Coast.

The Experience

My workshops aren’t just about technique; they’re about presence. We spend time outdoors, surrounded by the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, working with incredible horses and their people. Participants are encouraged to experiment, play with light, and explore their creative voice in a supportive, collaborative environment. Evenings are for conversation, image review, and sharing experiences over good food and laughter. It’s a balance of learning and connection, where education meets artistry.

WORKSHOP DETAILS

Grayland Beach, Washington — August 28–29, 2026

The coast offers something entirely different: wind, waves, and the kind of light that changes by the minute. This two-day workshop blends artistry and adventure, capturing horses against the backdrop of the Pacific.

Over three photography sessions — two evenings at sunset and one morning at first light — we’ll focus on photographing horses in motion, at liberty, and in connection with their riders. Expect golden skies, creative freedom, and space to explore your unique photographic voice.

The workshop fee is $1,700, with a $500 deposit required to secure your place. The remaining balance is due August 15, 2026. Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferred to another participant.
